Lizard Turns Eleven

Lizard invited a few friends over the week of her 11th birthday. We didn't call it a birthday party, because if it were a true "birthday party," there would have been another five or six girls to invite (which was beyond mom's limit). Lizard is blessed with good friends! Sure, we sang "Happy Birthday" and lit a couple of candles, but other than that, it was just another fun girls' night.

At Lizard's request, the girls ate off of her new china set.

We had make-your-own pizzas. The girls were so excited to eat off of the china (they were probably hungry as well!), they sat down while their pizzas were still in the oven.

Lizard wanted face painting to be a part of the party. The girls loved it!

I think Butterfly was supposed to be some sort of Care Bear.

Sewing was another of the chosen activities.

Lizard helped her friend make a fish out of leftover fabric from Hank's iguanadon costume.
 .

Always the good sport, Steady Man allowed Lizard to paint his face to
shrieks of delight from some of the girls.

I really love this photo of Steady Man and Lizard.

This is the serious picture.

... and here's the requisite silly one.

Make-your-own ice cream sundaes for dessert.

More sewing.

This is from Lizard's actual  birthday. The present is from Nanny.

Nanny sure knows what Lizard likes!

Roller skates from Nana.

Nana has recently learned how to sew beautiful quilted bags (similar to Vera Bradley bags). Lizard received one in gecko green.

Lizard received a stand for displaying necklaces.
Within an hour of receiving it, she had made this lovely necklace to put on display.
